Boat-ride.

There is no better way to see the historic heart of St.Petersburg than from its waterways. Visiting our city and not exploring its numerous rivers and canals by boat would be an inexcusable mistake. It is not for nothing that St.Petersbutg has earned the nickname “The Northern Venice”. The city is divided into small islands linked by bridges.
Boat trips offer a unique opportunity to see the most beautiful architectural ensembles of the city centre and the famous granite embankments featured in classic Russian literature.

The Mystery of the Yusupov Palace
  - the story of Rasputin's murder unfolds here!
This remarkable 18th century residence built on the banks of the Moika river is known today by the name of its last owner prior to the Russian Revolution. Yusupov Palace is one of the 50 palaces owned by the wealthy noble Yusupov family, patrons of art that assembled an exceptional collection of paintings, sculpture and applied art, which rivaled with the court for the opulence of their receptions and received monarchs in their apartments as guests. This great ensemble is an example of noble life in its extreme, almost regal splendor.
We’ll tour this great palace, including the family’s magnificent private theatre where nobles came to be entertained.
The palace’s notoriety and intrigue comes from the role it played in the assasination of Rasputin, one of the most contradictory figures in Russian history. Here, in the old mansion on the Moika, a bloody drama was played out . Join us and we’ll take you to the hidden basement chamber where you experience the scene as it was laid out on the fateful night of Rasputin’s death.

We welcome you to enjoy the picturesque suburbs of St.Petersburg!

Tsarskoye Selo and Catherine’s Palace.

In the town of Pushkin, 16 miles to the south of St.Petersburg, stands one of the most beautiful and opulent palaces of the Golden Era of the Tsars. Commonly known as Catherine’s Palace, it was a favourite place of relaxation for all the Russian monarchs, used for great balls and masquerades< as well as formal diplomatic receptions. The residence was especially loved by two empresses, Elizabethn and Catherine II, who spent time there in winter as well as in summer.

The picturesque facades of the palace painted in bright azure-blue, white and gold, are dazzlingly beautiful. The interior is even more magnificent than the exterior. The suite of rooms known as the Golden Enfilade, where walls and doors are adorned with guilded carvings are outstanding. Don’t miss the Catherine’s Palace, and you’ll see the Great Hall which was copied after the Hall of Mirrors in Versaille !
The literal gem of Catherine’s Palace is the Amber Room that was called one of the 8 wonders of the world. Plundered by the Nazis in World War II, the amber decoration of the room is now restored.

Walk in an astonishingly splendid park with terraces, mirror ponds and marble sculptures.
Here one needs very little imagination to picture emperors and empresses, fine-mannered courtiers and military men in their uniforms strolling along the alleys of the park.

Peterhof.

This estate founded by Peter the Great as his naval summer residence is proudly called “The Russian Versaille”. Situated at a distance of 20 miles from the city, it’s a great palace and park complex which covers the area of some 2000 acres. You can find there a dozen palaces and pavilions that belonged to the Romanovs, but the main beauty of Peterhof is its gardens with more than 150 fountains that play by gravity ! Even if you get splashed by one of the trick fountains, it’s a sign of good luck !
Peterhof can be reached by car, or by a comfortable hydrofoil that leaves from the pier in front of the Hermitage Museum.
